I first met Michael Turner face-to-face in March of 2004, but like many others, I got to know him through his beautiful artwork long before. I recall waiting in line for hours on end, just to shake the hand of the man that had drawn some of my favorite comics of the past several years. I was greeted with a kind smile, and warm disposition - things never forgotten when offered by such a genuinely wonderful individual. From Fathom, to Soulfire, to the amazing cover work done by this artist extraordinaire - no other so exquisitely captivated a Fanboy's fancies. Michael Turner succumbed to his courageous battle with cancer on June 27th, at approximately 10:42 pm, in Santa Monica, CA.
He will be sorely missed.
